"Had a regular check up with Dr. Gustavo, I can say from trying multiple vets around Tampa, he and the staff are some of the best. They took their time with us explained everything during the appointment, actually saw them do the tests, bloodwork, shots and various exams. All while educating me about preventive treatment for my healthy 10yr old terrier and pointing out things I can do to improve my dogs life. All in all, great people who really care about animals and want to help. Would recommend!"

I am compelled to write a five-star review for this amazing family-owned and operated animal hospital. Wellswood Midtown Animal Hospital has been a cornerstone of our community since the 1960s, withstanding the tests of time, including COVID-19, hurricanes, and various other challenges. Despite everything, this facility has always powered through, ensuring top-notch care for our beloved pets.

As a pet lover, I can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted as if you've arrived at your mom's house after a long absence. The family-like atmosphere is evident in the way both you and your pet are immediately treated by the entire staff. In a bilingual community like West Tampa, it's a relief that both English and Spanish are fluently spoken here.

Dr. Gus and his wife recently relocated the hospital to a brand-new, immaculate facility next door. The thought and layout that went into every area of this new hospital are remarkable. It’s always clean and designed with both pets and owners in mind. My dog Jethro and my previous German Shepherd, Chief, both actually enjoy coming here, despite knowing it's a hospital. The love and care provided are truly exemplary.

They know your name, your pet's name, and greet you with the most kind and loving spirit of a family-owned business. Dr. Gus and his wife take immense pride in what they've accomplished here, and no matter what brings you in, they always make an effort to come out and say hello.

Please do not take your pet anywhere else. You would be missing out on the most wonderful care you could ever receive. This review comes from the bottom of my heart, based on many years of experience with this hospital and two beautiful German Shepherds.
